What they say[edit]

“The ultimate replacement for spreadsheets, mind mappers, PIMs, text editors and small databases.

Suitable for any kind of data organization, such as Todo lists, calenders, project management, brainstorming, organizing ideas, planning, requirements gathering, presentation of information, etc.

It’s like a spreadsheet, immediately familiar, but much more suitable for complex data because it’s hierarchical.

It’s like a mind mapper, but more organized and compact.

It’s like a text editor, but with structure”

Observations[edit]

Combining elements of outliners, zooming spreadsheets, treemaps and a ToDo system, TreeSheets is an intriguing new entry to the information mapping world. Above all it’s fast, so you may find it can sit in your Quicklaunch area as the perfect light-weight idea grabber. It’s early days yet and it still has some unexpected was of operating, but Wouter regularly comes out with new versions that iron out the quirks of this fascinating new paradigm in human-computer interface design.

This new software is under active development (Feb’09).
